The current carbon credit market revolves around quality: high-quality carbon credits are in demand. Prices are following this trend.

Integrity standards for climate projects are becoming increasingly stringent. What we are seeing in the market is that the number of climate projects undergoing a formal audit process is on the rise. Such an audit process represents a significant investment, but it enables a project to qualify for the ICVCM Core Carbon Principles (CCP) label - an important quality guarantee.

The growth in the number of high-quality credits is a sign that the voluntary carbon market is becoming more professional. These factors will also play a role in the carbon credit market in the coming years:

• digitization via blockchain and AI;
• the growth of carbon removals;
• strategic purchasing behavior;
• the end of vague “carbon neutral” claims;
• the formal recognition of carbon credits as asses class.

The share of high-quality carbon credits is growing and prices are rising along with it. Anyone entering the certified credits market now is doing so at today’s prices.
