The construction and real estate sector has established a Net Zero standard for carbon reduction and carbon offset. Carbon credits also play a role in this standard.

Recently, the DGBC (Dutch Green Building Council), the Foundation for Climate-Friendly Procurement & Business (SKAO), and Climate Cleanup introduced a joint Net Zero standard for the construction and real estate sector. This standard provides the sector with concrete tools to work towards net zero emissions.

The primary focus is on avoiding and reducing emissions as much as possible within the company's own chain. For the unavoidable remaining emissions, the standard describes options for compensation, such as material-related carbon storage, the purchase of renewable energy, and/or the use of high-quality carbon credits.

We invite construction and real estate companies that are already interested in exploring the use of carbon credits to make an appointment with one of our specialists.
